Everything you need to start vermicomposting with zero guesswork required. Our complete Red Wiggler Worm Farm Kit is designed specifically for beginners who want to transform kitchen scraps into rich, garden-ready compost without the hassle of sourcing equipment and supplies separately. Simply add water, and you're ready to go!
This all-in-one vermicomposting setup eliminates the intimidation of starting from scratch, getting your composting bin productive from day one with a thriving, multi-generational worm population already included.
What's Inside & Why It Matters:
1 lb Red Wiggler Worms: Your ready-to-work composting workforce, approximately 800–1,000 worms capable of processing kitchen waste daily from the moment they arrive.
946 ml Cocoons and Babies: The next generation of composters is already hatching, ensuring your worm population continues to grow, and your bin stays productive long-term without purchasing additional worms. The rich bedding included with the cocoons is teeming with beneficial microbes and bacteria that actively seed your bin with the biological activity needed to kickstart decomposition from day one.
1 Black Worm Composting Bin (22”x17”x7"): A beginner-sized composting bin providing adequate space for your worm colony to thrive. It's the perfect size to fit under a kitchen sink for normal household use.
1 package Red Wiggler Food (300 g): A specially formulated supplement to boost worm health and activity, keeping your colony processing waste at peak efficiency.
1 package pH Booster/Grit (500 g): Maintains a healthy, neutral bin environment that red wigglers crave, preventing harmful acidity buildup that can stress or harm your colony.
1 block Coconut Coir: The ideal moisture-retaining bedding for your worms. Simply hydrate, fluff, and layer into your bin as the perfect worm habitat foundation.
1 Light Blocking Cover: Red wigglers naturally avoid light and this cover encourages worms to stay in the bedding and work efficiently rather than trying to escape. We use the same cover on all our worm bins for its light-blocking properties and the air gap it provides at the bedding surface.
1 bag Wood Shavings (Not shown in product photo): Adds aeration and carbon balance to your bin, preventing compaction and maintaining a healthy compost environment. Slower to break down than cardboard, so your worms have a more gradual carbon source.
Easy-to-Follow Instructions: Step-by-step setup guidance so even first-time vermicomposters can get their farms running confidently and correctly.

The content was great - good quality material and healthy worms - with the exception of the bin itself. It’s slightly too small - not deep enough. As well, using bubble wrap as a lid is not my ideal long term situation. It would be better if the bin had a hard lid/surface sat loosely on top of it.
Hi Lisa,
We’re sorry to hear that you weren’t completely satisfied with your worm kit. Our kit is designed as a starter bin for those new to vermicomposting. We intentionally made it smaller (22 x 17 x 7 inches) so that people can easily keep their worms under a kitchen sink or in a closet without taking up too much space. We also kept the bin shallow because red wigglers thrive within the top 8 inches of soil. If the bin is too deep, the bottom material can become compacted, leading to casting buildup and anaerobic conditions. Unfortunately, this is a lesson we learned the hard way 25 years ago.
We use plastic bubble wrap covers throughout our farm because they provide both air circulation and darkness for the worms, making them feel safe at the surface. We've tried other covers, such as paper, burlap, and hemp, but they degraded too quickly. We do not include a hard cover with our kit because it keeps the sides of the bin dry, which deters the worms from crawling out and escaping.
Thank you for your comments. We are always striving to improve, and we appreciate your feedback. We are exploring additional bin size options to expand our inventory.

The kit is great. I'm already a bit of a compost worm fanatic, but if you're looking to get into worms this is a great way to start!
