Mealworm Frass - 2 kg

Wormera Mealworm Frass is the manure harvested from our mealworms and is used as a phenomenal organic soil amendment. Our worms are only fed fresh vegetables and Alberta-grown wheat bran. Unlike some commercially available frass products which are generated as a byproduct of industrial large-scale insect farming and are treated with pupating inhibitors and growth hormones.

Mealworm frass is naturally dry and odourless. It has the texture of fine powdery sand which makes it easy to add to any soil mix. We sift using a #30 mesh which reduces the amount of residual wheat bran so you receive a more pure product with less filler than other available frasses.

Other than providing well-rounded nutrition to your plants, Wormera Mealworm Frass contains Chitin. Chitin is a naturally occurring molecule found in the exoskeletons of many invertebrates including mealworms. Chitin triggers an immune response in plants which helps defend against pathogens and nematodes. It may also reduce or prevent Fungus Gnat infestations.
